Let’s Explore CBDfx
The CBDfx website doesn’t disclose very much about the company other than they use Organic U.S. grown hemp in their products and they do not use harmful chemicals, without any other useful information. I emailed the Customer Service twice, requesting more info and I called their help desk to also find out more information.
The representative on the phone was unable to answer my questions about the CBDfx manufacturing facilities (whether they were cGMP certified, US Hemp Authority Certified, etc.) Likewise, the one emailed response I got back from their customer service was to tell me they would have to send my information request to another department. I waited over 1 week before continuing this review and I have not heard back from the company as of the publication of this article.
Here are the things you can easily find out about CBDfx from their website. CBDfx does carry full spectrum, broad spectrum and isolate CBD in a variety of product lines ranging from Vape Pens, Tinctures, Edibles, Drinks, Pet Products, Terpenes & Capsules. Interestingly, on the Tinctures website, CBDFX does say they use the best in class manufacturing processing, but they do not directly disclose if they are U.S. Hemp Authority certified or cGMP certified. You can find an article on the CBDfx website talking about the importance of quality manufacturing, but I couldn’t find any other indication of that information on the corporate website.
Again, CBDfx website doesn’t disclose much information about the way CBDfx manufactures their products. It was actually pretty difficult to round up any information about the company in general because the website didn’t make it easy to find an “about us” page to let me know about the company history, farming locations, etc. From the page that I was able to find, it doesn’t really talk about the company’s origins or anything significant. However, on the tinctures page, CBDfx did disclose they use Kentucky grown organic CBD, but they didn’t disclose where it was processed. I’m also not really sure where they are headquartered, although a California address is listed on the bottom of the home page.
Quick Facts about CBDfx Gummies with Turmeric and Spirulina
Each CBDfx Gummy with Turmeric and Spirulina contains 5 mg of Broad Spectrum CBD. That means, during the manufacturing of the Hemp Plant, the THC is virtually eliminated, leaving the rest of the cannabinoids and terpenes in place. CBDfx gummies are also vegan-friendly, utilizing pectin over gelatin. Another great fact about CBDfx is that they use organic cane sugar and agave vs other artificial sweeteners found on the market.
These gummies do contain the added benefit of Turmeric and Spirulina. Turmeric, which is a deep yellow color, has long been used in Indian food as a spice is actually a member of the ginger family, it is a root spice and has curcumin as the most active chemical. Curcumin has been proven to be anti-inflammatory and a pain reliever as well. Spirulina, a blue-green algae is often touted as a superfood because it is higher in protein than most vegetables and it is believed to have immunity-boosting benefits because it is high in Iron and B Vitamins.

What the test results say about CBDFX Gummies With Turmeric and Spirulina
CBDfx lists all their lab results via a link at the bottom of their home page which I appreciated. Each product line has a separate link with a downloadable PDF. Pharmlabs San Diego performed the analysis of these gummies in October of 2018. In my email inquiry, I asked if there were any more recent test results and I still have not gotten a response.
The gummies showed non-detectible amounts of THC as well as CBG, CBN, and CBC. A total of 9.53 mg/unit was detected which can be a little confusing unless you remember that CBDfx recommends taking two gummies. I also want to point out that while other companies test slightly over for their CBD content, CBDfx test results are slightly under their posted amounts.
What it’s like to supplement with CBDfx Gummies with Turmeric and Spirulina
Unboxing the CBDfx Gummies with Turmeric and Spirulina
I purchased the smaller package of 8 gummies for this review. They came very discreetly packaged in a manila envelope. The package of gummies itself is brown with a green contrast behind the CBDfx logo. The entire package is just slightly larger than the palm of my hand.
CBDfx turmeric and spirulina gummies are a dark green sugar coated candy that is also a CBD supplement
Think about that for a moment. It’s a candy. It’s a supplement. Isn’t that sorta oxymoronic in nature? These gummies contain a moderate amount of turmeric and spirulina per serving of two gummies, but the color of the turmeric is completely lost in these super dark sugary gummies. The first time I ate one, I did not like the way it tasted.
I have been supplementing with CBD for over a year now, so I’m used to the CBD “Earthy” flavor, but the Spirulina, especially sweetened was really interesting to my taste buds. It took me 4 supplements to get over the flavor of these gummies. I can’t say I ever got to the point that I thought they were delicious.
The first time I tried a gummy, I hadn’t mentioned what I was doing, and I bit into it and must’ve made a really interesting face because my husband started laughing and exclaimed, “What on earth is wrong with you?” Because it’s a gummy, it takes a moment to chew (which, in this case, isn’t a great thing in my opinion), so you get the time to really savor the uniqueness that is a gummy with turmeric and spirulina. I muscled through the rest of the gummy and really had to gather my fortitude to continue taking these supplements.
I only took one gummy and honestly didn’t feel very much. The next day, I went ahead and took two gummies (10 mg) of CBD. I noticed that the pain in my hip that I woke up with had subsided and I felt looser.
Eventually, if you add enough sugar, just about anything will taste “o.k.”
At least, that’s what I’m going to assume because these gummies are sweet. It did take me 4 different tries with these gummies to get to the point where I wasn’t wincing with each bite. I appreciate a good supplement as much as the next person, and I have supplemented with both Spirulina and Turmeric, but these were always in a capsule form, not a candied form. I’m not one to shy away from new or interesting flavors, but if something is packaged to be a treat, and since I have to count all calories, I’d at least like to enjoy the treat, versus grimacing to get through it.
I took two gummies in the middle of a crazy Monday afternoon when I was running around like a maniac trying to meet deadlines and get kids in time. I had already lost my temper on my poor saint of a husband and was just overall losing my bananas when I thought, “hmmm, if only there was something I could do about this craziness?” “Oh, ya, I have CBD I’m supposed to be reviewing!” It was about 3 in the afternoon and I took two gummies. It took about 45 minutes for me to really notice, but I did feel the anxiety of being raddled go away and I was able to sit down quietly and get some stuff done.

3 Reasons you should try CBDfx Gummies with Turmeric and Spirulina
Gummies, in general, are a great way to get your CBD supplement in because they are sweet and they tend to take a little more time to get into your system and therefore, you may experience their benefits longer. Another great benefit of the gummies is that you know exactly what you’re getting with each serving. Unlike a tincture, where you’re sorta guessing if you got the oil right up to the line or just below it, each gummy you know you’re going to get the exact same amount of CBD. For some folks, that consistency brings peace, so edibles like gummies are a great idea. The final reason to try these gummies is to add a bit more of turmeric and spirulina to your system. Personally, I love the benefits of turmeric and use it regularly for inflammation.
Three biggest drawbacks to buying the CBDfx Gummies with Turmeric and Spirulina
The CBDfx Gummies with Turmeric and Spirulina are marketed as gummies with the added benefit of superfoods. However, with just 50 mg of turmeric and 20 mg of spirulina, you really aren’t getting much of a dose of either. A quick google search of turmeric supplementation says you need between 500-1000 mg /day. This is 1/10 of that suggestion. Spirulina suggested doses are between 1000-5000 mg a day. This gummy simply doesn’t have enough of either of the “superfoods” to really be effective as turmeric or spirulina supplements. Finally, these gummies plain just don’t taste good. Sure, they are covered in crystallized sugar, but seriously, just like that old expression, you can put lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig. These gummies, even with added sugar, still don’t taste good to me.
What is the CBDfx Gummies with Turmeric and Spirulina Value?
When you purchase the 60 count bottle, the price is just over $1.5 per serving of two gummies. This is about average for a high quality product, although the total amount of CBD per serving does seem a little low for that price point. Considering the gummies do have the added turmeric and spirulina, this makes the product definitely worth trying if you like CBD gummies and you like adding just a bit of turmeric and spirulina in your supplementation regime. I also really like you can get the smaller, almost sample like size pack of 8 gummies. It’s a great way to test out a product at a significantly reduced price to see if you like it.
