About Charlotte’s Web
Charlotte’s Web is a Stanley Brothers company located in Colorado, USA. The name originates from a girl named Charlotte with a rare disorder that caused a significant amount of daily seizures. With regular, consistent use of the Charlotte’s Web Original Formula CBD Oil, Charlotte’s parents finally found a way to minimize the symptoms of her disease, unlike any other product they had tried. As a living tribute to Charlotte, the Stanley Brothers renamed their company to Charlotte’s Web.
About Charlotte’s Web Maximum Strength CBD Oil
Charlotte’s Web Maximum Strength CBD oil is made from full spectrum, organic, vegan-friendly, and non-GMO hemp that is sourced and processed in Colorado. The Charlotte’s Web Maximum Strength CBD oil is processed using the CO2 extraction method and is full spectrum. Full Spectrum usually means that the entire contents of the hemp plant, including stems, leaves, and flowers are processed.
This type of processing retains the benefits of all the chemical compounds found in hemp, like the various cannabinoids (including cannabidiol and no more than 0.3% THC, which will not get you high), terpenes, and flavonoids. The chemical compounds have beneficial attributes individually. However, when they are combined, they work together creating what is called an “entourage effect.” This synergistic relationship increases the total benefits of the end product.
The Charlotte’s Web Maximum Strength CBD oil is very concentrated and contains:

- Cannabinoids are compounds inside the hemp plant. Cannabidiol (CBD) and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) are the two most prevalent.
- Terpenes are the chemicals responsible for giving each strain its own unique scent and flavor.
- Flavonoids are responsible for color, help protect the plant, attract pollinators like bees, and can even filter out UV rays.

Packaging and design
In terms of product design, late in 2018, Charlotte’s Web changed their packaging design as a tribute to “their roots” in the Rockies, with a silhouette of the Rocky Mountains in the background, their logo and the CBD amount per serving on both the bottle and their matching boxes. The packaging also includes a “QR” code that allows you to verify their third-party test results. This has subsequently become the new “standard” industry packaging design, with other companies changing their labeling to be similar to Charlotte’s Web.
Trying the Product
What does it taste and smell like?
Charlotte’s Web Maximum Strength CBD oil smells like mint. It is supposed to be Mint Chocolate but I don’t really smell the chocolate. The taste is an earthy mint with a hint of fake chocolate. The aftertaste is very earthy and plant-like. All things considered, however, the flavor is mild, without a strong hemp flavor, but I still don’t think it tastes good.
Effect over time
I first tried about ¼ a dropper mid-morning because I normally take 10-20 mg at a time, and one dropper (which is 1 milliliter) has 60 mg. I accidentally got some on my lips and they immediately went numb for a few minutes. Everyone is different, so this may not happen to you.
About 15 minutes later, I felt calmer and more focused. I could definitely tell that it helped relieve my chronic lower back and shoulder pain and these benefits lasted all day. That night, I took another ¼ drop and slept like a baby. I don’t take this particular product every day because it is so concentrated, but I know when I do take it, the effects are the same each time.
Value for the Money
Charlotte’s Web Maximum Strength CBD Oil is a premium product with a higher price point. If you value quality control, full farm-to-bottle processing, and brand recognition, this is a great product for you. If you are on a strict budget then this would be a hard addition to your monthly expenses, especially when the CBD market is becoming more saturated with products that test similarly in terms of chemical profiles.
What I liked about Charlotte’s Web Maximum Strength CBD Oil
I liked that this is such a concentrated product so a little bit goes a long way and that it doesn’t make me sleepy. Instead, it does help me relax and focus at the same time. It definitely helps reduce my chronic pain, and when it is time to sleep I can certainly tell a difference in the quality and quantity of sleep.
What I didn’t like about Charlotte’s Web Maximum Strength CBD Oil
The oil still has a pretty strong plant matter, earthy flavor. This can be rather off-putting, especially if you’re very sensitive to strong flavors. It is a little on the expensive side, which limits possible consumer demand to those with more disposable income.
