Charlotte’s Web, a Stanley Brother’s Company
Charlotte’s Web is a powerhouse industrial hemp provider inside the US. It is a vertically integrated company, which basically means they control the entire process of their products, from the time they put their proprietary seed into the ground, through harvest and then into production. Charlotte’s Web’s products are US Hemp Authority Certified and cGMP certified. This tells you that the company pays particular attention to quality products and consistent results.
Right now, Charlotte’s Web carries full-spectrum and isolate CBD products. You can get Charlotte’s Web CBD in a tincture, capsule, topical lotion and balm. They also have products for your furry friend. New as of 2019, you can now get the special strain of CBD as a gummy supplement as well.
The new Charlotte’s Web Gummies are no exception to their promise. Containing natural fruits and vegetable juices and other naturally occurring supplements, the gummies are a great way to get your CBD in a slightly tastier way. Each serving of two gummies contains 10 mg of CBD. Inside the recovery gummies, you also get 50 mg of curcuminoids and 25 mg of ginger.
What You Get with the Charlotte’s Web Recovery Gummies
The suggested serving size for the Recovery Gummies by Charlotte’s Web is two gummies. This gives you 10 mg of Full Spectrum CBD, which, In the simplest terms, means Charlotte’s Web uses all the parts of the plants that are above ground. Having the full plant profile in your supplement allows you to take advantage of the “entourage effect” where all the compounds inside the Industrial hemp plant like the cannabinoids and terpenes work together to enhance the overall effect of the supplement.
What makes the Recovery Gummies special is that they also contain 50 mg of curcumanoids and 25 mg of ginger. turmeric, long used as a food seasoning and in Ayurvedic practices has been shown to reduce inflammation and improve brain function. Typical dosage suggestions for turmeric are 500-1000 mg/ day. Ginger is another supplement known to help reduce inflammation and muscle soreness in addition to being a great anti-nausea supplement. The suggested serving size to supplement with ginger is between 1000-3000mg. You’ll notice that the amounts of turmeric and ginger are far lower than those recommended doses, so I assume they were added for taste and not their anti-inflammatory properties.

How do the Charlotte’s Web Recovery Gummies actually test?
Charlotte’s Web has totally revamped its COA results posting in 2019. Following industry trends, the test results now show test results for the different cannabinoids found inside their products. This COA didn’t disclose who was the third party responsible for testing. However, you can see that it was manufactured in April of 2019, so this is still a fairly new product. The new COAs also disclose test results for microbials, residual solvents, and pesticides. (This COA showed how the gummies passed these tests.) Effectively, it means that the Charlotte’s Web Hemp found inside the Recovery Gummies did not have any microbials, residual solvents or pesticides found present.
Something interesting I noticed with the Charlotte’s Web Recovery Gummies is that you also get CBG (.1mg/gummy) and CBC (.3mg/gummy). CBC is said to have anti-inflammatory properties as well as antifungal and antiviral properties. You also get 5.6 mg of CBD / gummy, so you actually get a little more than what it says on the bottle.
Supplementing with the Charlotte’s Web Recovery Gummies
The Charlotte’s Web Recovery Gummies at first glance
These gummies were sold in a local health food store, which made them super convenient to get. They come in a round amber plastic container that contains 60 gummies. Unlike other gummies I have tried, these are small cubes that are not covered in any sugary substance, so they definitely have a stickier feel to them. Each gummy is a fall leaves colored orange.
The first time I took the Charlotte’s Web Recovery Gummies
The Charlotte’s Web Recovery Gummies are marketed to help with sports recovery. In order to truly give these puppies a run for their money, I decided to try them after a two-day “yoga binger.” Before taking these gummies, I practiced some pretty intense yoga for about 5 hours in two days (which is a lot), so I knew that I was gonna be feeling it if I didn’t do something. After my 5th class in about 36 hours, I headed to the health food store, grabbed the container, opened it in my car and immediately took two gummies. This, I thought, was the PERFECT time to try some recovery products! I slept like a baby that night for a full 8 hours and then the next day, to my amazement, I didn’t have any residual soreness.
Taking Charlotte’s Web Recovery Gummies over time
I was super excited to try these Charlotte’s Web Gummies because they actually tasted ok, and I liked how it added other natural ingredients to help me recover faster. As an almost 40 year old active female, recovery time is not what it used to be, so I am always looking for something that can help me feel better faster. I took these gummies during the middle of the day to see if they would also help with the anxiety of running a small business and raising small children without making me sleepy, and they did! I also tried taking them at night to help with my sleep, and each night, I would sleep really well with two gummies. I took the gummies first thing in the morning after I woke up with random pain, and within an hour I was feeling better. It was a reliable way to get the relief I needed.
My favorite things about the Charlotte’s Web Recovery Gummies
I liked the fact the gummies weren’t loaded with a ton of sugars. In fact, there were only 3 g of added sugar in each serving of 2 gummies. I also liked the fact that it was easy to monitor exactly how much CBD I was getting. Since each gummy contains about 5 mg of CBD, it is easy to tell exactly what I was getting, as compared to trying to measure the tinctures out in the dropper. I also really liked how the gummies were packaged. The round plastic container was secure, stable and strong. Finally, I really like that the gummies didn’t have the strong earthy flavor common in tinctures, nor did it have any of the unpleasant aftertastes that can sometimes happen when you use tinctures and capsules. The gummies tasted pretty good, so it was actually like a treat!
My least favorite things about the Charlotte’s Web Recovery Gummies
I love the fact that Charlotte’s Web is trying to improve my overall experience with their product adding beneficial compounds like turmeric and ginger, but at those smaller levels, it doesn’t really contribute that much since suggested serving sizes are much larger than what you actually get.
I can totally understand why the concentrations are limited to make sure that the gummy tastes good, but I do feel like it does sell a bit of smoke and mirrors when they’re so far under the recommended dose on both supplements. Maybe they think a little is better than none? I also think (and you may think this is sorta silly) that these gummies feel funny. They taste fine, but they feel, well sorta slimy. It’s a little like I am picking up one of my children’s slime creations that is starting to dry a little bit, and then I’m going to eat it. Strange mental picture, right? If you just picked it up with a fork, maybe that would make things better, but it definitely does feel odd.
The Charlotte’s Web Recovery CBD Gummies value
My health food store actually had these gummies on sale which made them come in at just under $1 / gummy. If you think about the full cost for 10 mg serving at $2. True to the super-premium Charlotte’s Web brand, that’s actually rather expensive if you go straight $ per mg of CBD. However, the fact is, with these gummies, you’re getting a full-spectrum, high-quality product that actually tastes pretty good. (As compared to the usually very “earthy” tincture flavors.)
