Intimacy Vibe Kit
The Intimacy Vibe Kit by Foria Wellness actually comes with two products: Awaken Arousal Oil and Intimacy Lubricant. Both products are coconut-oil based and infused with broad-spectrum hemp extract, formulated to support an enhanced sexual experience.
The Awaken Arousal Oil is marketed as “a multi-aphrodisiac blend formulated for people with vulvas, to enhance tactile sensation & pleasure while decreasing tension, discomfort and dryness.” The Intimacy Lubricant is touted as a bedroom essential that enhances intimacy “with the soothing and activating effects of CBD delivered directly to intimate areas — or anywhere you enjoy extra wetness and less friction.”
I tried these products both separately and together; and I also tried them by myself and with a partner. Overall, I really enjoyed the experience and found that it did enhance my orgasms and create a very pleasurable tingling sensation. I would definitely buy these again.
How to Use This Product
The Awaken Arousal Oil is designed for topical use as an intimate massage oil. According to Foria’s website, sensation-enhancement begins building after applying and massaging it in. The oil comes in a 1oz spray bottle or a 2oz dropper. I received the spray bottle, which was easy to use. Foria recommends around 4 sprays on your intimate areas, but I actually used 6 or 7 sprays to make sure I got the best bang for my buck. I sprayed the oil onto my hands, and then rubbed it around my vagina and labia.
I felt something almost immediately — probably because of the other ingredients like ginger and cinnamon. The result was a deeper, more sustained orgasm and a heightened sense of touch. Basically, everything just felt a little more tingly and a little bit more sensitive, which is exactly what you would want from an intimate oil or spray. Of course, I can’t say whether this has to do with the CBD itself or the other natural ingredients. We hear about how CBD increases blood flow, which I personally believe — but I can’t say for sure. What I do know is that this oil works, and if you have issues with pain or sensitivity or even just getting in the mood, it can probably help.
While the Awaken oil is not a lube, you will get a lubrication because the base is coconut oil and it’s slippery. If you are having partnered sex, you can also use it as part of your foreplay. But I would recommend trying it out first to make sure that both you and your partner like the taste (if you are ingesting it orally). I personally found it very palatable, but my partner did not like the overpowering cinnamon taste.
The oil is edible, vegan, and gluten-free. There are about 30-50 servings per bottle. It’s important to note that this product is not to be used with latex, as it is oil-based. This means that any condoms, diaphragms or toys must be oil-safe.
For the Intimacy Lubricant, Foria recommends you place a coin-sized amount in your palm and then apply it to your intimate areas during sex rather than before. I used this product both vaginally and anally, in partnered sex and with a toy. I am happy to report that it works as well as any other lube I have used. I actually like it better than most lubes, and it is definitely a product I would use again.
As with any lubricant, this one does increase sensation. Again, I can’t know for sure whether this sensation is related to the CBD increasing circulation, the other ingredients, or a combination, but it created the desired effect and I liked it. This product is great if you are looking for a little extra slip action.
I really enjoyed using these two products together, because you get the combined benefits of the lube with the sensation. I also think that higher CBD punch from using both at the same time would increase blood flow.
Foria Wellness boasts an “unwavering commitment to organic plant-based ingredients.” The products contain broad-spectrum hemp extracted from USDA-certified organically sun-grown hemp.
The Awaken Arousal Oil is made with organic MCT coconut oil, whole-plant infusions (named as organically grown hemp, organically grown kava root, organic cinnamon, organic ginger, and organic vanilla), as well as organic essential oils (cardamom and peppermint), and cacao absolute. This product is not latex safe, so if you are using it in partnered sex, know that you won’t be able to use latex condoms. Curiously, Foria does not explicitly state how much CBD is actually in this product, but the Certificate of Analysis tells us there is 1.026mg per gram. If you do the math, that means there are about 30mg of CBD in this product altogether (about 1mg per spray), which is quite a low dosage. Though there is little research on this topic, the low dosage makes me think that it’s actually the other ingredients working their magic, and not the CBD. Still, it’s best to test out with one spray to see if this product works for you, and add more as needed.
The Intimacy Lubricant has just two ingredients: organic MCT coconut oil, and broad spectrum hemp extract (200mg). This product is oil-based and therefore not for use with latex or poly-isorpene. Any condoms, diaphragms or toys must be oil-safe materials like polyurethane or nitrile for protection from STIs and pregnancy, or lambskin for prevention of pregnancy (but not STIs).
Transparency & Lab Results
Foria is one of the most transparent CBD brands out there.
Foria provides a ton of information about where their ingredients are sourced. This feels like a trustworthy brand that has put a lot of thought and care into making a quality product.
They use all-natural ingredients, which are mostly organic. The final products are independently tested for potency and purity, ensuring that everything is free of pesticides, heavy metals, microbes, and other toxins.
Foria sources its hemp exclusively from organic, biodynamic, and regenerative family farms, clearly naming Hudson Hemp. Hudson Hemp’s plants are processed and extracted on-site in a state-of-the-art extraction facility that is FDA-certified, Kosher-certified, ISO certified and GMP compliant. Rather than CO2 extraction (which is popular as a clean alternative to toxic processes busting butane or hexane), Hudson Hemp uses cryo-ethanol extraction, powered by certified organic food-grade ethanol. This process preserves the hemp’s full spectrum of phytochemicals and terpenes. After extraction, a “short path distillation” step removes plan waxes and all traces of THC, resulting in a broad spectrum of terpenes and cannabinoids.
The rest of the ingredients are 100% plant-based ingredients with no synthetics. The coconut oil is made entirely from coconuts, with zero palm oil.
About the Brand
A sex-positive and empowering brand for women, made by a man.
Foria Wellness was founded in 2014 by Matt Gerson. who grew up in a religious Jewish community before studying Tibetan Buddhism and contemplating becoming a monk. In 2009, he started a condom company called Sir Richard’s Condoms. One of the things that stuck out to him was the glaring discrepancy between the number of products designed to improve the sex lives of men and women. Gerson had heard about the medicinal benefits of cannabis oil, and began to experiment with it, thinking it would make a great lube. He founded Foria Pleasure, a line of THC-infused products for women’s sexual health.
Demand for CBD-infused products and the fact that THC is not yet universally accessible led him to create Foria Wellness. This line also includes Foria Relief (a first-of-its-kind menstrual relief suppository) and Foria Explore (a rectal suppository for relaxation and ease).
I deeply connect to Foria’s sex-positive messaging. All of the branding is very empowering for women, and destigmatizes sex and masterbation. Their website also includes a lot of useful sexual education and information, like a blogpost called “How to Masterbate (the Lazy Girl’s Guide to Self-Pleasure).” Foria offers discounts for military personnel, teachers, first responders and medical pros. The company’s mission is to offer effective products for important and under-served life experiences).
Pros and Cons of Foria Wellness Intimacy Vibe Kit
Foria’s consumer experience is excellent. The brand offers all customers risk free money-back guarantee on all products.
In terms of communication, there are several channels. Foria offers a very easy-to-navigate live chat feature on its website via Zen Desk, Monday-Friday between 11am-3pm Mountain Time. Outside of these hours, you can contact the brand by email, submit a request online, or send a message via Facebook and Instagram. The FAQ page is quite thorough, as is the rest of their website.
Packaging and the Unboxing Experience
Both products came in opaque whilte bottles, which I appreciate because I tend to be a little careless and lazy with where I keep my products. That means that if they did catch a bit of natural light or sunlight, the product will be safe. I also loved that all ingredients are clearly listed on both the box and the bottle itself.
The Awaken Oil came in a small spray bottle that is very easy to use, and the Intimacy Lubricant comes in a little bottle with a screw-top.
The white and rose-gold packaging feels very appropriate for the target audience: women. Or, as Foria puts it, people with vulvas.
Foria recently announced a new commitment to sustainable packaging, using 100% post-consumer, FSC-certified paper & eco-inks for all boxes and inserts. The products come in 100% recyclable amber bottles and recyclable dropper tops.
Bottom Line & Main Takeaways
I liked these products very much. I cannot say for sure the efficacy is due to CBD, but I do know that I personally don’t spend money on sex products like this often. But if I were, these are 2 that I would always make sure to have in my arsenal.
What I loved
I loved pretty much everything about these products: the smell, taste, and texture. Most importantly, I love that it works.
What I didn’t love
These products are not latex safe, so that is limiting for partnered sex with latex condoms. My partner did not love the taste of the massage oil.
