Family-Focused Wellness through CBD Supplements
Joy Smith, founder of Joy Organics, found CBD when she started looking for natural alternatives to her sleepless nights and shoulder pain. With a family in the wellness industry and marketing, Joy Organics set off with the mission to spread Joy and Wellness through their CBD Supplements to as many places as they can. With a focus on broad spectrum CBD products, Joy Organics offers CBD oil tinctures, soft gels, topicals, vapes, pet products, topicals and gummies. They even have a product that combines curcumin or melatonin with the soft gel options. All of their products test for zero detectable THC amounts.
Joy Organics uses a proprietary strain of hemp that is grown in the U.S. and then processed using CO2 Extraction. Next, they remove any compounds they don’t want, like the THC, chlorophyll, plant particles, etc and further refine it by “washing and scrubbing” it. This processing leaves a product that tests free of THC.
Joy Organics markets this product as a workout supplement. Since it has 75 mg of caffeine, it definitely can help to get you moving. With 12.5 mg of CBD, that’s enough to keep you focused and reduce some inflammation, but it’s not so much that it’ll counteract the energy from the caffeine to make you sleepy. This product also has a host of other vitamins added like A, C,D, & E and all sorts of B’s which also can help to boost your energy. They also include ginseng and amino acids to help boost the energy-giving factors of this powder. The Joy Organics Premium Hemp Energy Drink definitely isn’t an “All natural” supplement by any means, but it is definitely an effective supplement at giving you energy.
Joy Organics isn’t sold locally so I ordered my product late at night and received it about 5 days later. The package was very simple, and the container itself for the packages of energy drink mix is small, it fits in my hand easily. The packaging is clear and easy to read and I like how on the front it says exactly how much caffeine and CBD is in each packet. On the side, you’ll find a QR code to investigate the 3rd party test results. On the back, it gives you the suggested use and the ingredients (which is actually a really long list.) It is sweetened with Sucralose and stevia. Each package contains 5 packets, or 5 servings.

Happy Berry Energy Drink Lab Results
On the product page, Joy Organics summarizes the major findings of their lab results, such as testing negative for E. Coli and Salmonella. It also shows how the tests come back testing negative for lead, heavy metals and arsenic. On the side of the box, a QR code is available to scan for quick access to the lab results. The problem was, my box didn’t have a batch number near the QR code, or anywhere. Thankfully, there were only two batch options to check into, so I checked both and I have linked to the most recent batch results, 11000.
Joy Organics uses PhytaTech for their third party testing. Although not quite as detailed as other products that we have reviewed, Joy Organics does disclose the different cannabinoids and terpenes found in their products. This is useful if you’re into the different benefits of each cannabinoid. The only problem is, the disclosure is more by weight vs by container, so I’m not really sure if the packet has 12.5 mg of CBD since the test result says CBD is 21.59% wt. I don’t know 20.55% of what the total amount was or 205.48 mg/g. This information is great and all, but I don’t know what the total amount of the test batch was to be able to really see exactly how much CBD is in my packet.
On the 11,000 batch, you’ll see that the test shows less than .01 % is CBG is found. However, in the 10,000 batch, you see slightly more, with .04 % of CBG. The total amount of CBN is also slightly different as well–with less than .01% of CBN in the 110000 batch vs less than .03% in the 10000 batch. These amounts are so incredibly small that it’s hard to really tell if that is enough of a difference to change the overall effects of the supplement between batches.
What I immediately Noticed about the Packaging
I didn’t know what to expect when I placed my order for this energy drink. The packaging is clean and simple with the 5 packets coming inside a white box with a purple/pink lettering. On the front of the box, you see the name, Joy Organics Premium Hemp Energy Drink, with the flavor, Happy Berry, right below it. You also see exactly how much caffeine is in each dose of one packet, and the amount of CBD, 12.5 mg.
On the left-hand side of the box, you see the QR code, and then on the back are all the active ingredients. I was surprised at how many vitamins there were, and I like the additional amino acids like L-Glutamine, which can be a nice supplement if you’re putting your body under a lot of stress, which is basically me, every single day. The packets look just the same as the individual low calorie flavored water packets you can find at the supermarket. They tear at the top, or you can cut them open and it pours easily into your cup. It also mixes incredibly easily, with just a few swirls of the spoon.
Full disclosure alert: I don’t always read ALL the instructions. I may or may not have left over pieces when I assemble IKEA furniture on my own. SO, when I went to make the drink for the first time, it was 07:35. I wanted to pay attention to the time, because I wanted to know how long until I felt the effects. I had about 16 oz of water in my first pour and I took a sip and to say it was tart is an understatement. I typically drink water and coffee these days so flavored water is apparently super super sensitive these days. I doubled down on the water and it was still incredibly sweet. I honestly felt like it tasted more like a pink lemonade beverage served at kids birthday parties. I didn’t really smell any fruit (or lemon for that matter.) It smelled sweet, and it tasted very sweet.
By 8:15, I cleaned my kitchen, picked up all my kids toys, gotten them dressed, was making their lunches and starting dinner in the crock pot when I realized how incredibly productive I was being, and I had a full pot of coffee still simmering! Ya’ll, I’m not kidding, it was good. I was called in last minute to teach a HIT Yoga class (basically a yoga inspired workout class) and, I may be bias, but it was a darn good class! During nap that same day, around 1:30, you know usually about the time that the mid-day crash happens, I was working at my desk when I realized that it’s normally my mid-day coffee break and, will wonders never cease, I didn’t need any coffee!
That night, after a pretty big appetite all day long, whether from the energy drink or from my harder than normal workout, I’m not sure, I was super sleepy by 10 pm even though I hadn’t taken any other CBD or other natural sleep aid. Normally, I need something to help encourage my brain to turn off because it doesn’t like turn off on its own. The process of turning off my brain usually takes an hour, so I’d say that was darn near close to miraculous.
I ordered the Joy Organics Premium Hemp Energy Drink strictly for this review and I opted not to supplement with it every single day given the high level of caffeine content. I opted to take the supplement in the morning on an empty stomach and without any additional coffee, so I would wake up and stare longingly at my coffee maker, grab my big mason jar and fill it with 32 oz of cold clear water and put my Pink “adult kool aid” – how we explained it to my kids who saw the pink concoction and of course wanted some. It was “mama kool aid” and they couldn’t have any. Within 30 minutes I was awake and ready to go.
These effects lasted me all day, helping my typical aches and pains to go unnoticed, and in a season of crazy busy schedules, I was able to get my stuff done and stay focused/on task. By bedtime, I was sleepy and my brain actually wanted to slow down on its own. I did not take any other caffeine other than the Joy Organics Energy Drink. My workouts were pretty strong all week (which is always nice) and I felt like I made a pretty good stride towards a particular yoga pose I’ve been working on, which I LOVED.
I did notice on the days that I supplemented with the Joy Organics Premium Hemp ENergy Drink that I seemed to be hungrier. Typically, I wake up and have coffee and then, trying to follow the “intermittent fasting” protocol of 8 hours eating and 16 hrs fasting, I try not to eat until lunch time. However, the mornings I supplemented with the Energy Drink, I was legit starving all day. It could be coincidental, but I do know artificial sweeteners have been known to increase appetite. I assumed my appetite changes were due to the artificial sweeteners since I never have them anymore, so I was very susceptible.

- 75 mg of caffeine is nothing to sneeze at and the combination of it with CBD seems to have a nearly magical effect of keeping you awake and focused.
- The 12.5 mg of broad spectrum CBD was effective at reducing and eliminating some of my chronic inflammatory issues.
- This product is sweetened with acesulfame potassium, an artificial sweetener that is found in many processed foods and comes with a controversial background.
- This product is also sweetened with sucralose, which is another artificial sweetener that some people think could be dangerous to your health.
